shopping with us online as easy as possible. With this in mind, here
you’ll find a list of useful pages when using our site, including
registering with us, how to buy online, all about your order and
payments and security and peace of mind.
We’re thrilled you’ve chosen PC World and we want to make sure you’re thrilled with us. • Terms and Conditions • Our contract after you have ordered • Restrictions - age requirements and limits on orders • Returns, Cancellations & Faulty Goods. • Prices & Payment • recycling • Delivery • Missing, damaged or incorrect orders • This website • General Terms and Conditions last updated on 23.05.2011
We recommend that you print and keep a copy of these Terms and Conditions for future reference.
Terms and Conditions We’ve
tried to keep our Terms and Conditions as clear as possible, and give
you all the information we can (but not too much) about your online
transactions so that you completely understand the whole process, from
order to delivery and beyond. It’s really important to us that your
online shopping experience meets expectations, so please spend a few
minutes and read on. You’ll need to accept our T’s & C’s every time
you make a purchase – they might change from time to time, so do check
the date at the top of the page. Please note that different terms
(including prices, charges for services, availability, delivery times
and returns policies) apply to purchases made in one of our stores.
Our contract after you have ordered Firstly,
don’t panic if you make any mistakes during your order, you can correct
any input errors right up until you confirm payment.
Once you’re
happy everything is correct and you’ve submitted an order you’ll be
given an Order Reference Number and details of the products (and/or
services) you have ordered. You’ll then receive an email headed ‘Order
Acknowledgement’ recognising receipt of your order. We will then send a
further email headed ‘Order Confirmation’ and this is when our contract
with you begins. This second email also lets you know how your products
will be delivered to you. If we have to cancel all or part of your
order for any reason, we will email you to let you know.
Sometimes
we have to hold our hands up and admit we have made a mistake by
unintentionally publishing inaccurate information on the site (e.g. the
price, description or availability of a product you have ordered). In
this instance we may have to cancel your order at any time up to the
point we send you the product(s), even if you have received your Order
Confirmation email, and you will receive a full refund of any charges
already paid.
Restrictions - Age Requirements and Limits on Orders Some
of our products have a minimum age requirement (computer games for
example), and by ordering you are confirming that you are of the
required age.
Returns, Cancellations & Faulty Goods...
How do I return a product after delivery? If
for whatever reason you change your mind and would like to return your
order after delivery, we’re happy to refund or exchange your purchase as
long as it’s unopened and in its original packaging. This option is
available for 21 days after delivery.
Following the Distance
Selling Regulations, we will accept items back even if you have opened
the goods to inspect them. You are entitled to a refund as long as you
return your goods within 7 working days* from the day of delivery. The
goods must in an ‘as new’ condition and returned in the original,
undamaged packaging, along with any accessories and free gifts received
with it. The product must not have been used or installed or had any
data inputted. Whilst the goods are in your possession you must take
reasonable care of them and not use them. DVDs, CDs, memory cards and
software must still be sealed. – .
* Working days means all days other than Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.
There are two ways to refund/cancel your purchase: • You can return the product to one of our stores with your receipt, bringing the card you paid with, so we can credit it •
You can send the product back to us, then email websale@pcworld.ie,
quoting your order number and we can make arrangements for refunding
your purchase.
We will then give you a full refund for the cost
of the product. However we do have the right to retain any charge paid
for services which have already begun or been completed. Refunds take
3-5 working days to be credited to your payment card.
When we cannot refund/cancel your purchase: • If you return your product to a store without proof of purchase •
There is a contract for services with the product and you have started
using the services; this would include, for example, a mobile phone
subscription • The seal has been broken on any DVDs, CDs, memory
cards or software, including games, or on any personal hygiene products
such as shavers • The goods were a special order to your specification
How do I cancel an order before delivery? Should you wish to cancel your order before delivery please email us at websale@pcworld.ie and we will arrange.
What happens if my product arrives damaged? Although
we take every care to ensure your product arrives to you in pristine
condition on rare occasions a product may get damaged in transit. If you
do receive a damaged product, please contact us straight away by
emailing websale@pcworld.ie and we will arrange a free of charge
collection and either a refund or replacement product.
We do ask that you: • Do not use the product for your own safety • Inform us straight away
What happens if my item is faulty? Should you suspect a fault with your product please make sure: • You have read the troubleshooting section of the manual as it may be a common fault that can be easily resolved •
For PC’s and other digital entertainment you have visited the TechGuys
on http://support.thetechguys.com for additional expert support, driver
downloads and manuals
Should you not be able to resolve the
problem either take the product to your local PC World store along with
your receipt or email us at websale@pcworld.ie. For all products should the fault occur within 21 days from the date of delivery you have the option of a refund or an exchange.
Please
note that we may ask to inspect the goods to confirm the fault or ask
you to carry out a telephone diagnostic to make sure it is not a problem
that can be resolved quickly.
Prices & Payment As you would
expect all our prices are in Euro. The total cost of your order will be
the price of the products you order, the delivery charge (if any), plus
any additional services you choose e.g. premium delivery or
installation. You’ll see all these in your Shopping Basket before you
submit an order. Payment is deducted once an order is submitted. You can pay by using the following credit cards: • MasterCard • Visa

Recycling Electrical
products are brilliant when they’re working, but getting rid of your
old one can be problematic. Maybe you're aware, or maybe not, that
Ireland is one of the best recyclers of electrical appliances in Europe.
Under Ireland's application of the European WEEE directive, retailers
are obliged to accept old products on a one for one basis when consumers
are purchasing new electrical appliances. When a new appliance is being
delivered, retailers are again obliged to take away and arrange the
recycling of the old appliance. We're delighted to play our part in
this.
If you have any piece of electrical equipment you want to recycle, you can either: • Bring your old product into any of our PC World stores Or •
We can collect and recycle your old TV (when you buy a TV of 32” or
above) or large domestic appliance for free when you have your new
product delivered by our home delivery service.
PLEASE NOTE: If
you are recycling a product that holds personal data (i.e. PC, Laptop,
Mobile Phone, etc.) you will need to have removed the information from
your old product prior to us receiving it as we will not carry out any
data removal.
